Dalesbus Ramblers - Walks Programme Summer 2010

Dalesbus Ramblers organise an extensive programme of weekend guided walks amidst the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, all of which are accessible by public transport.  The walks are free of charge to bus users and are suitable for people of average fitness. Some walks are organised by the Friends of the Settle Carlisle Line.

There's no need to book in advance if you'd like to join any of the walks, simply catch the bus or train to the listed start-point. Please bring a packed lunch, and don’t forget your waterproof clothing and spare warm clothes packed in a waterproof bag just in case!

The leader reserves the right to refuse walkers on the grounds of health or unsuitable clothing/footwear etc, however walkers remain responsible for their own safety.

In the case of adverse weather conditions or other unexpected circumstances, the walk leader reserves the right to change or cancel the walk.

As many walks cross areas with livestock, dogs are not permitted on our walks.

CLASSIFICATION OF WALKS

EASY                           Suitable for all, a short and generally level stroll

MODERATE                 A longer walk with occasional uphill sections

STRENUOUS               An extended walk with more uphill climbs and over rougher ground

Details of our main programme of walks appear below.

If you have any queries about a walk, or public transport connections, please phone the walk leader. English National Concessionary bus passes are valid for free travel on all DalesBus services.

A programme of walks in Bowland, organised by our sister organisation, The Bowland Transit Club, is also available.
